Terms of Service
Last updated July 12, 2026. Written in plain English on purpose — if anything here is unclear, email hello@maptakeover.com and a human will explain it.
1. Who we are
MapTakeover ("we," "us") provides Google Business Profile optimization and local search visibility services to businesses. By using maptakeover.com, running a free scan, or purchasing a plan, you agree to these terms.
2. The service
We offer three paid plans, all billed monthly:
- Autopilot — $197/month. AI-run profile management: review reply drafting, photo cadence, monthly rescan and report, optimization alerts. No human account manager.
- Map Pack Takeover — $497/month. Our core service: profile optimization, review velocity engine, landing-page rebuild for the page your profile links to, citation cleanup, spam fighting, and a monthly proof map.
- Takeover Pro — $997/month. Everything in Takeover plus competitive-vertical intensity: weekly grid scans, a landing-page content program, aggressive spam fighting, and a quarterly strategy call.
No contracts. Every plan is month to month. Cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We don't do setup fees, onboarding fees, or early-termination fees.
3. The 90-day greener-map guarantee
The promise: if your map isn't greener after 90 days, we keep working at no charge until it is.
What "greener" means, precisely: your Share of Local Voice (SoLV) — the percentage of grid points where your business ranks in Google's top 3 map results — improves against your baseline scan, on the money keywords we agree to in writing at onboarding, measured on the same grid, radius, and keywords each month.
For the guarantee to apply, three things must stay true:
- We keep manager access to your Google Business Profile throughout the period.
- You approve (or delegate approval of) our Phase 1 recommendations within a reasonable time — we can't move a map with changes sitting in a queue.
- Your profile isn't suspended or removed due to actions taken outside our recommendations.
We also reserve the right to decline an engagement after your assessment. If your profile is already well optimized in a brutally competitive area, the honest answer may be that we can't confidently improve it for $497/month — and we'll tell you that instead of taking your money.
4. What we will never do
These aren't just ethics; several are federal law, and violations put your profile at risk:
- No fake, purchased, or incentivized reviews. The FTC can fine fake-review schemes up to $51,744 per violation — per review.
- No review gating (filtering out unhappy customers before they can review you publicly).
- No keyword-stuffed business names — the #1 cause of profile suspensions.
- No selling you tactics that published testing shows don't work (daily posts, geotagged photos) as ranking services.
5. The free scan
The free assessment is provided as-is, uses publicly available data, and is a diagnostic snapshot — not a promise of specific results. Sample reports shown on this site are labeled as samples and use sample data.
6. Your responsibilities
- Give us (and maintain) manager access to your Google Business Profile.
- Provide accurate business information — hours, service area, licensing where relevant.
- Respond to approval requests in a reasonable time.
- Own or control the website your profile links to, or authorize us to work with whoever does.
7. Payment
Plans are billed monthly in advance by card. If a payment fails, we'll retry and email you; service pauses after 14 days unpaid. We may change prices with 30 days' written notice — your current price is locked until then, and you can cancel before any change takes effect. We don't refund partial months, because you can cancel anytime and the guarantee, not a refund policy, is how we take on the risk.
8. What we don't promise
Nobody honest can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google Maps — proximity is a ranking factor, so results differ block by block. We guarantee your visible area grows (Section 3), and we show you the map either way. Google can and does change its algorithm; our playbook is anchored to published ranking-factor research, and we adapt when the research does.
9. Relationship to Google
MapTakeover is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Google. "Google," "Google Maps," and "Google Business Profile" are trademarks of Google LLC.
10. Liability
Our total liability for any claim arising from the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost revenue attributed to ranking changes — rankings are ultimately controlled by Google, not us.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll email active clients at least 30 days before changes take effect. Continued use after that is acceptance; cancelling before then is always available, because — no contracts.
